Motorists and residents of Apapa Road in Lagos Mainland local government area, have cried out to the government over the deplorable state of the road which links Oyingbo and Costain areas of the metropolis.

Some of those who spoke with Lagos Bulletin on the state of the road said patching up the road in the past only ended up in adding to the problem. They also alleged that the last local government administration did little or nothing to rehabilitate the road. The state of the road has led to constant traffic gridlock on the road.

Adewale Ketiku, a resident of the area, said “the rate at which ditches and potholes appear on this road is alarming, as it had contributed more to traffic jams on the busy link road.

“We appeal to the local and state governments to quickly come and fix the bad parts of the road before it becomes impassable.” A motorist, who is also a resident of the area, expressed disappointment over the way the road has been abandoned and appealed to the agency responsible for the maintenance of roads in the state to come to the rescue of those who use the road daily.
