An official of the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI), Mr. Adeyinka Caulcrick, was yesterday allegedly stabbed three times by a soldier at Balogun area of Ikeja, Lagos.

Caulcrick was allegedly stabbed by the soldier for carting away the wares of a woman said to be the wife of an Army officer at Leventis Bus Stop, Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, Ikeja.

The KAI official was first stabbed in the chest, back and then in the lower part of his neck, while driving an official KAI truck.

“Last week, at Leventis Bus Stop, we saw a woman selling her wares and we told her to remove them, but an Army officer told us to leave her alone because she is the wife of one of their colleagues.

“On Tuesday, we saw her there again, selling her wares. We confronted and seized her goods. Some army officers came to her rescue but we told them to come to our office near Country Club,” said Caulcrick.

According to him, the soldiers came to the Country Club on seven motorcycles to foment trouble. One of them threatened to deflate the tyres of the KAI vehicle.

“I got into the vehicle, started it and attempted to drive off but the soldiers pursued us on their motorbikes. At Balogun Bus Stop, one of them jumped into the vehicle.

“While ordering me to stop, he stabbed me in the chest, back and in the neck.

“He then held me by the neck, saying he will kill me. That was when I lost control of the vehicle,” he narrated.

“The vehicle crashed and the windscreen was shattered. I was bleeding profusely when our commander rushed me to the LASUTH for medical attention,” he said.

KAI Marshal General, retired Captain Danjuma Maigeri told P.M.News that they had filed a formal report to the police in Ikeja and another to the Nigerian Army authorities.

“As a retired army officer, this cannot happen during my time. Now, we have bad eggs in the Army and they must be flushed out.

“The Nigerian Army is a disciplined and respected organisation. It is just unfortunate that we can’t identify the culprits, but I will fish them out and they will have themselves to blame,” he stated
