Chairman of the Action Congress (AC), Lagos chapter, Otunba Henry Oladele Ajomale, has revealed the reason behind the postponement of the South-West conference of the party, initially scheduled for 24 January.

Chairman of the Action Congress (AC), Lagos chapter, Otunba Henry Oladele Ajomale, has revealed the reason behind the postponement of the South-West conference of the party, initially scheduled for 24 January.

He told P.M.News that the conference was shifted to honour the National Chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande, and another chieftain of the party, Alhaji Lamidi Adesina, whose 70th birthdays fell within the period.

Otunba Ajomale said the inauguration of the 44th president of the USA, Barack Obama, was also considered, as some of the party leaders traveled to witness the swearing-in of the first African-American president. He said the conference has been tentatively fixed for 14 February, at the Premier Hotel, Ibadan.

The Lagos AC boss appealed to party leaders in the South-West to mobilise members to the conference, which is aimed at fashioning a new political strategy for the party.
