Chief Bisi Akande has been described as a political legend whose transparency and integrity has turned him into a national hero that can never be ignored.

Speaking with P.M.News, at Ila-Orangun, former Lagos state governor and Action Congress leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, said the honour bestowed on Chief Akande, on his 70th birthday, is a manifestation of his contribution to the development of Nigeria.

Also speaking, the National Publicity Secretary of the Action Congress, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said: “This is a testimony that our people actually know who their leaders are, and they appreciate good leadership.”

The National Chairman of Afenifere Renewal Group (ARG), Hon. Wale Oshun, described the event as a great honour which is highly befitting, while the group’s National Publicity Secretary, Yinka Odumakin, said “Papa Akande has been a consistent man, a proper leader with uncommon passion for the down-trodden.”

A Yoruba leader, Pa Ayo Fasanmi, described the honour bestowed on Chief Akande as “very fantastic and it shows very clearly that it is nice to be nice. Chief Akande is one of the greatest men that I have ever met in my life in terms of accountability and transparency.”

Otunba Henry Oladele Ajomale, the Lagos AC chairman, stated that no encomium was sufficient for Chief Akande, considering his contribution to his country, Yorubaland and mankind in general.

He further described him as incorruptible, loyal and a frontline democrat. The Lagos AC Vice-Chairman (Lagos West), Cardinal James Odunmbaku, described Pa Akande as a great man who always stands on the side of the truth.
